Don't get mad. Hear me out. This 2009 Nissan GT-R would not start. In fact, it wouldn't even respond to the start button at all. I messed around with it for a good 15 minutes before it came to this. Through it all, the dash remained utterly dark except for the dreaded Intelligent Key Warning Lamp. But the headlights and taillights worked fine,; it had plenty of juice. After all, the car had sat shut-down for only 5 minutes after a three hour drive. The manual states that this warning lamp indicates a problem with the Intelligent key OR THE STEERING LOCK ITSELF. The steering lock was actually unlocked, so the only thing I could figure was that something in the column was jammed. So I unlocked the tilt and telescope wheel clamps and bumped it against the stops to jar things around and tried again. Started right up on the first attempt. You can't argue with success. But it's going straight to the dealer to make sure it doesn't happen again--if they can figure it out, that is.
